The event showcased a presentation by Ms. Ru Yi, Assistant Vice President for International Markets (APAC) at Trip.com Group. Ms. Ru Yi’s talk illuminated the remarkable expansion of China’s outbound travel market in 2023, thanks to favorable visa policies and restored travel capacities. This surge positions China’s outbound tourism as a significant force in restoring global tourism confidence. Notably, Indonesia emerged among the top 10 preferred outbound destinations for Chinese travelers, reinforcing its pivotal role as a key market source.
Ms. Ru further highlighted the shifting demographics among Trip.com users, with Gen Z and Millennials comprising a substantial portion. Noteworthy was a 5% rise in female users compared to 2022. This younger demographic exhibits a keen interest in cutting-edge travel experiences and curated content, signaling the direction of future travel trends.

The presentations underscored Trip.com’s dedication to partner success. Mr. Krishna outlined various initiatives supporting hotels in attracting a broader range of travelers. These initiatives include TripPlus, Mobile Deals, the Hotel+X program offering unique value-added services, and the comprehensive Preferred Partner Program. The latter provides increased production, exposure, exclusive icons on Trip.com’s platform, and greater incentives for participating hotels.
