The US Embassy in India has announced that the applicants for F, M and J non -immigration visas have to make their accounting records in social media publicly.

The new guidelines seek to help officials check the identity and right of the applicants provided by the US law. The US Embassy stated that each visa review review is a “national security decision”.

“It comes into force immediately, all persons who seek visa F, M or J, non -immigrants are asked to set up privacy settings on all their personal accounts in social media for” public “to facilitate the check necessary to establish their identity and assumption in the US, embassy, Embassy, Embassy – Note In a message on X.

According to the new rules, Indian students and others who plan to engage in scientific circles either enroll in professional or exchange programs designed to ensure that their profiles in social media will be put publicly before submitting a visa application. The refusal to set the “public” accounts may be the reason for the refusal.

The Embassy noted that the United States demanded Visa entrants to provide social media IDs for immigration and non -immigration visa applications since 2019.

It also states that each part of the “accessible” information is used within its visa screening and verification to identify the visa applicants, which are considered unacceptable for the country, including those who are a threat to its national security. However, this did not say what they would look for these steps.

Similar directives were issued by other US embassies around the world, at the US Embassy in Mexico reference that Visa applicants must list all users in the social media or handles of each platform they have used over the last 5 years.

Development takes place a few weeks after the US Presidential Administration Donald Trump ordered Embassies around the world stop meeting meetings for student visas to expand such applicants in social media. Last week, the US State Department said it was restoring the process, but with new measures requiring the applicants to unlock their social media accounts for government review.

“The United States must be vigilant during the visa process to ensure that those who apply to the US admission are not going to harm our national interests, and that all applicants reliably set their right to visa, including what they intend to engage in a confession – Note.
