In one of the largest coordinated law enforcement operations, the authorities dismantled Kidflix, a streaming platform that offered sexual abuse material (CSAM).

According to Europol, Kidflix launched in 2021 and over time scored a catalog of 91,000 unique videos. Approximately 3.5 new videos were loaded on the platform on average.
The platform, which has had about 190,000 registered users since April 2022 and offered it, offered the opportunity to download and transfer the content after users made payments using cryptocurrencies, which were later transformed into tokens.
“By downloading CSAM, checking videos and descriptions and assigning video categories, violators could earn tokens that were then used to view the contents,” Europol said.
“Each video was loaded in several versions – low, medium and quality – allowing criminals to pre -view the content and pay the fee to unlock the higher quality versions.”
In view of this, the detected offenders are only a part of 1.8 million users who are suspected that the platform from April 2022 to March this year. Upon Dutch police officials13 suspects were identified in the Netherlands, although no arrests have not yet been carried out.

Development comes as a European Commission disclosed A new internal security strategy called Protecteu to better detect cyber -war, fight serious and organized crimes and share intelligence across the region.
As part of the initiative, the commission is expected to “submit a technological road map to identify and evaluate technological solutions to ensure legitimate access to law enforcement data in 2026”.
The idea added is to “determine and evaluate technological solutions that would allow law enforcement agencies to access the encrypted data legally, protecting cybersecurity and fundamental rights.”
