UPH signing a Memorandum of Understanding | Risk Management, Economic Sustainability, and Actuarial Science Development in Indonesia

Prof. Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M. Eng. Sc., (centre), Rector at Universitas Pelita Harapan, is joined by colleague Prof. Dr. Manlian Ronald A. Simanjuntak, S.T, M.T (right) and William James Duggan, READI Project Field Director, Indonesia, at the April 10, 2017 signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to participate in the READI Project’s Indonesian activities which includes the creation of an Actuarial Science co-operative education program at his university.

Other colleagues (not pictured) present for the signing included: Dr. Helena Margaretha, M.Sc., Associate Dean of Faculty of Science & Technology, Kie Van Ivanky Saputra, S.Si. Ph.D, Head, Mathematics Program Department, Dian Augustini, READI Project Indonesian Co-op Officer and Scott Davis, READI Project Canadian Co-op Officer.<--break->


On April 10, 2017, Universitas Pelta Harapan (UPH) Rector, Prof. Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M. Eng. Sc. and READI Project Field Director, William James Duggan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the UPH campus in Tangerang to strengthen co-operation in education and research at the strategic and technical levels by leveraging institutional strengths and comparative advantages.

Using financial support and knowledge transfer, READI Project staff will collaborate with partner universities to develop increased capacity in Actuarial Science education in Indonesia.The collaboration will include: recruitment and development of actuarial science lecturers, co-operative education and mathematics outreach as well as investments in student scholarships and applied research.
