JAKARTA – Grab Indonesia held a Indonesia Privacy and Security Summit 2023, to prepare for the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) which will take full effect in October 2024.
The event, which was held on October 24-25 in Yogyakarta, aims to prepare the technical implementation of the PDP Law and its implementation challenges to ensure more optimal governance of personal data.
“As a digital-based company that processes large amounts of data every day, the security of user data is certainly our top priority,” said Neneng Goenadi, Country Managing Director, Grab Indonesia in a statement received, quoted Wednesday, November 1.
Through this event, Grab Indonesia invites industry players to discuss preparations and challenges that will be faced in order to create a safe digital ecosystem for users.
There are at least four main topics discussed in this event, namely:
Grab’s seriousness in ensuring the security of user data privacy can be seen from the various initiatives they carry out both in the company’s services and internals.
For example, updating and socializing Privacy Policies to consumers, routine mandatory training on Data Privacy for employees, holding discussion forums with experts / academics / practitioners to increase employee understanding of data privacy, to educating Driver Partners and Merchant Partners about the importance of protecting personal data.
